This is the history of the only double barreled cannon written by Jack Martin of Athens, GA. It was invented by John Gilleland in 1863. It was a double barrel cannon that was supposed to shoot double cannon balls simultaneously. After test firing it twice, it was determined that it was a disaster and abandoned. The only one manufactured resides on the grounds of the City Hall in Athens, GA. There is a 3.5 x 3.5 inch b&w photograph of the double-barrel cannon in Athens, GA.
